Max Gardner and Paten Shelton have served as our primary percussion staff and writers at Wilson Central High School for the past several years, and their impact on our program has been outstanding. Their work is marked by exceptional attention to detail and a clear commitment to avoiding “cookie-cutter” arrangements. Instead, they consistently create thoughtful, engaging writing that features a wide variety of sounds and textures. Max and Paten take the time to understand the specific needs and vision of a program, ensuring their arrangements align perfectly with both the musical and educational goals of the ensemble. They are extraordinarily hard-working individuals who go above and beyond what is expected. In addition to their percussion writing, they have also provided high-quality visual content, including contributions to battery drill and choreography for both the battery and winds.
